Day by Day Itinerary

  • Day1 Chengdu/Kangding/Zhonggu Village

    Activities for today: Zhonggu Village

    Meet your guide at your Chengdu hotel this morning and drive to Kangding, capital of Garzê Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. After lunch, continue to Zhonggu Village to meet our stableman. Check in to a boutique minshuku run by a Tibetan family, then enjoy an optional soak in the village's natural hot spring.

  • Day2 Zhonggu Village/Xindianzi

    Activities for today: Yala Snow Mountain

    After breakfast, we'll prepare the horses and pack our gear before setting off on today's trek. Our route takes us up Yala Snow Mountain along the scenic Yala Valley, where crystal-clear streams and dense forests accompany us throughout the journey. By afternoon, we'll arrive at our campsite—Xindianzi, a spacious flat area nestled within the valley.

    *Note: Today's trek covers approximately 13km with about 6 hours of walking. We provide tents, damp-proof mats, and cooking stoves; please bring your own sleeping bag.*

  • Day3 Xindianzi/Yalayoucuo Lake

    Activities for today: Yala Snow Mountain

    Continue trekking up and getting into a thick bush. As the terrain rises, the scenery before us suddenly becomes clear. Standing on an open alpine meadow, you can look south to the Bijia Mountain (Pen Holder Mountain) near Kangding, which is approximately 6,000 meters above sea level. Trek to the north and hike across Yala Pass (elevation:4,200 m), then pass the sister lake and reach our campsite Yalayoucuo Lake (elevation: 3,500 m).

    - Yalayoucuo, a blue alpine lake, is the most attractive one in the scenic area. It is also called jade sea, commonly known as Xiaohaizi. There is an ice waterfalll between the lake water and glacier. On the hillside around the lake are Redwood and Rhododendron shrubs, forming a wonderful natural picture.

    - Yalaco and Zhenlangcuo, also known as sister lake, are also known as Dahaizi. The lake is open and spectacular, with unpredictable water depth and clouds.

    Note: Today our trekking time is about 7 hours (16 km). Please prepare your own sleeping bag, we (tour operator) prepare tent, dampproof mat, stove, etc.

  • Day4 Bamei/Tagong/Xinduqiao

    Activities for today: Yala Snow Mountain, Xinduqiao

    After breakfast, we'll strike camp and trek approximately 3 kilometers downhill to catch the shuttle bus that takes us out of the park. At the exit, our private vehicle awaits to drive us to Xinduqiao via the scenic town of Tagong.

  • Day5 Xinduqiao/Chengdu

    Activities for today: Hike in Xinduqiao

    This morning, enjoy a scenic 10-kilometer (3-hour) hike through the beautiful mountains near Xinduqiao. Reaching the summit rewards you with breathtaking views of Mount Gongga—Sichuan's highest peak at 7,556 meters, revered by locals as the "King of Sichuan Mountains." After lunch, we'll begin our drive back to your hotel in Chengdu.

Private Transfers:
Between airports / railway station, hotels and scenic spots while sightseeing in the cities specified in the itinerary by the private air conditioned vehicle with driver and English-speaking guide. Separate arrivals and departures will incur extra charges.
Entrance fees:
All entrance fees to scenic spots as listed above in the itinerary. The final arrangement will be determined by local tour guides based on the local circumstances which are beyond the control of LocalChengduTours. ZTG will adhere to the original itinerary as accurately as possible.
Meals:
All meals as specified in the itinerary. “B” stands for western breakfast “L” for Chinese Lunch in local Chinese restaurant. “D” for Chinese dinner in local Chinese restaurant. The quotation is basic on the above normal meals. If you have any special request about meals, like vegetarian, or Indian food etc, please inform us in advance.
Private tour escort for Sightseeing:
Normal sightseeing activities as outlined in the Itinerary will be escorted with English-speaking guide.
The English-speaking guide and driver of each city accompany you throughout the entire tour in that city. They do not fly with you from one city to another.
Accommodation (if include Yangtze Cruiser):
Service based on two adults sharing on one standard twin/double-bed room (cabin); solo travelers or those who want to occupy one twin/double-bed room/cabin of their own are required to pay additional charge of single supplement rate. A single room (cabin) is subject to availability based on prior request at an additional cost; if the recommended hotel is not available, it will be substituted by a similar class one.
All hotels as listed in the above itinerary serve daily western or Chinese breakfast. All rooms are air-conditioned with private facilities unless specified.
Transportation:
All the domestic airfare of economy class with airport tax/ or train ticket(s) as specified in the itinerary.
