After breakfast, you'll drive to Leshan to visit the magnificent Leshan Giant Buddha. Carved into red sandstone cliffs where three rivers converge, this colossal 71-meter-tall seated statue is a marvel of ancient engineering. As you approach, the Buddha's serene expression seems to watch over the swirling waters below. You can climb the winding cliffside stairway to admire his tranquil face up close or take a river boat for a breathtaking panoramic view — the sheer scale will leave you in awe. Built over 1,200 years ago to calm turbulent waters, the Buddha stands as a silent guardian radiating timeless peace.

In the afternoon, return to Chengdu to explore historic Kuanzhai Alley (Wide and Narrow Alleys). This charming area feels like a step back into the Qing dynasty, with cobblestone paths, traditional teahouses, and artisan shops. The wide alley buzzes with spicy Sichuan snacks and cozy restaurants, while the narrow alley offers ivy-covered brick walls and hidden courtyards. Don't miss the carved doorways and stone lions. As golden sunlight filters through old ginkgo trees, you can sip jasmine tea in a centuries-old courtyard — a perfect blend of culture, history, and local life.
