Your unforgettable panda encounter begins bright and early at 7:00 AM, when your guide will meet you at your hotel. From there, we'll drive approximately 15 kilometers to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding—a lush sanctuary home to over 100 giant pandas and one of China's most important panda scientific research centers.
As you wander along peaceful, bamboo-framed paths, you'll have the opportunity to closely observe giant pandas of all ages going about their daily routines. Watch them munch contentedly on bamboo, playfully tumble with companions, or lazily climb among the trees. The morning hours are especially magical: this is when the pandas are at their most active, enjoying their breakfast in their houses and gardens. Don't miss the chance to peek into the nursery rooms, where you might spot adorable panda cubs nursing with their devoted mothers—a truly heartwarming sight. The base also features a fascinating panda museum, where you can discover intriguing facts about these beloved bears and ongoing conservation efforts.
In the early afternoon, we'll return to the heart of Chengdu to explore two neighboring streets that offer completely different flavors of local culture. First, we'll visit the Tibetan Street, a vibrant thoroughfare just steps away from Jinli. Many Tibetan people have chosen Chengdu as their home, and this street is lined with shops brimming with authentic Tibetan wares—colorful prayer flags, intricate silver jewelry, handcrafted textiles, and traditional religious artifacts. It's a wonderful place to immerse yourself in the rich heritage of Tibet without leaving Chengdu.
A short 3-5 minute walk brings us to the enchanting Jinli Old Street. Here, time seems to steal away as you wander through this lively pedestrian thoroughfare. The air is filled with the aroma of sizzling Sichuan snacks, the chatter of locals and visitors alike, and the melodies of folk performances. Browse delicate handicrafts, watch street artists at work, or simply soak in the vibrant atmosphere. It's the perfect place to sample local flavors and pick up unique souvenirs.
As the day draws to a close, we'll transfer you comfortably back to your hotel, leaving you with wonderful memories of pandas, culture, and the irresistible charm of Chengdu.

1. Early Start Recommended: We suggest beginning your day at 7:00 AM because pandas are most active between 8:00 AM and 10:00 AM—their designated breakfast and playtime. If you arrive later, you'll likely find them peacefully asleep after their morning feast.
2. No Panda Holding: Please note that holding a panda for photos is not permitted at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. This policy ensures the safety and well-being of these precious animals, allowing you to appreciate them respectfully in their naturalistic habitat.
